My mom had the great idea that for Father's Day this year, we should surprise my dad, who always wants to be surprised, and take him to Vegas. I was able to get off work early on Friday and we headed out. My dad knew we were going away, he just didn't know where.
Well as soon as they picked me up and I got in the car we had the Elvis Presely song "Viva Las Vegas" come on. It took awhile and then my dad went... "ohhhhhh" He was super excited.
We did a lot of eating at delicious places and shopping at amazing stores.

El Segundo

The highlight of the trip was definitely the Boneyard Neon Museum where they have all the old neon signs from the strip. It isn't officially open to the public so my mom had to go online and get a secret password, it was pretty intense stuff.
My brother forgot to bring his good camera, but he was able to take some amazing pictures with my point and shoot and then made this lovely collage so that I could put them on my blog and not bore you with a 1000 pictures.

When we got to dinner the first night the waiter took the wine glass away as soon as I sat down. I thought, how perceptive of this man to be able to sense that I don't drink. I of course paid no attention to anyone else at the table, because... well... that's just not in my nature.
So when the waiter comes back to pour the wine, he starts to pour some for my little brother, who lo and behold still had a wine glass in front of him. They had to inform the waiter, that brother would in fact not be drinking.
Apparently my brother who is 18, looks without question to waiters, old enough to drink...
Whereas I, who am 27 years, don't look 21....
My darling mom puts up with me when I throw fits because my head looks gigantic in every picture.
It's not like this is a new thing, my head being large, I've been wearing a bigger hat than my dad since like 8th grade.
Side note: I had just had IPL done the day before, and so all my freckles/sun spots were super dark... don't worry that all my sun spots are gone now... best thing ever.
It was a great trip to Vegas and luckily my mom popped for 2 rooms, so everyone got their own bed.
Heaven. On. Earth.

A Vegas trip sounds fantastic! What a fun get-away weekend. Umm love that pic of you and your Mom. I totally need to hear about the removal of sun spots. Boy do I have em. I need something. BAD! Email me details if you get a second. Love and miss you. I need another Amanda weekend.
Love that you went to Vegas, wish I could have been there to see you. Also funny, I just told Matt the other night that I was kinda over the Kardashian show and that it felt staged. You just confirmed that I am over it. Dont get me wrong, I might watch a replay episode or two now that I am at home all the time, but I dont feel the need to dress or say things like them anymore:) Ha ha.
What a great surprise for your dad. I wish i could have been in the car for the 'Viva Las Vegas' sing along. What fun.
P.S. New England autumn is calling...
